Spatial and Seasonal Variation of Diatom Assemblages Composition in a Partly Polluted River
نویسنده
چکیده
Environmental factors affecting the species composition of periphytic diatom assemblages were analyzed in the partly polluted Asa River, in Tokyo, Japan, using principal component analysis, individual differences scaling and direct gradient analy sis. The effects of water pollution, seasonal change of temperature, and substrate were detected, among which pollution was the most influential in this river. Substrate had only a little effect. The existence of both direct and indirect effects (through water quality and temperature) was suggested.

A Study of Diatoms Seasonal Distribution and Biodiversity in Helleh River Estuary, Persian Gulf
The purpose of this study was to investigate the distribution and biodiversity of diatoms during different seasons and their correlation with water quality parameters in Helleh River estuary, Bushehr, Persian Gulf. Samples were taken in mid-season from summer 2011 to spring 2012 during a one-year period from different stations. Results showed that diatoms mostly comprised of Bacillariophyceae, ...
متن کاملBacterial Biogeography across the Amazon River-Ocean Continuum
Spatial and temporal patterns in microbial biodiversity across the Amazon river-ocean continuum were investigated along ∼675 km of the lower Amazon River mainstem, in the Tapajós River tributary, and in the plume and coastal ocean during low and high river discharge using amplicon sequencing of 16S rRNA genes in whole water and size-fractionated samples (0.2-2.0 μm and >2.0 μm). River communiti...
متن کاملSpatial-Temporal Changes of Bacterioplankton Community along an Exhorheic River
To date, few aquatic microbial ecology studies have discussed the variability of the microbial community in exorheic river ecosystems on both the spatial and seasonal scales. In this study, we examined the spatio-temporal variation of bacterioplankton community composition in an anthropogenically influenced exorheic river, the Haihe River in Tianjin, China, using pyrosequencing analysis of 16S ...
متن کاملUsing Benthic Diatoms as a Bioindicator to Assess Rural-urban River Conditions in Tropical Area: A Case Study in the Sai Gon River, Vietnam
The changes in diatom assemblages along an urban-to-rural gradient were characterized to assess the ecological status of the Sai Gon River, Vietnam. Diatoms and physico-chemical variables were measured at 10 stations during dry and rainy season. One-way ANOVA showed that diatom metrics and physicochemical variables were significantly different (p < 0.05) between the upper course sites and both ...
متن کاملFish diversity and assemblages according to distance from source along a coastal river gradient (Ehania River south-east of Ivory Coast)
Fish assemblage was investigated during the study of longitudinal profile of the Ehania River Basin in south-eastern Côte d’Ivoire. This area is subjected to intense human activities with many plantations (palm tree, banana, pineapple, coffee, rubber and cocoa). Samples were collected, with gillnets of different mesh sizes, through 6 sampling surveys during dry and rainy seasons from February 2...
